From 15 to 18 May, the Kääriku Sports Centre hosted another para sports weekend organised by the Estonian Paralympic Committee, with support from the Order of Malta Estonia. This time, the camp brought together 16 children and young people with special needs, who made new friends and were introduced to various para-sports – including indoor curling, boccia, badminton, wheelchair basketball, floorball, football, judo, and different athletics disciplines.
For the third year in a row, the Estonian delegation participated in the Order of Malta International Pilgrimage to Lourdes which took place on May 1-5, 2025. During the five-day pilgrimage, Father Edgaras Versockis, the Chaplain of the Order in Estonia, celebrated Mass in the crypt of the Basilica of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in Lourdes, as well as at the Grotto of Massabielle, where the Virgin Mary appeared to Bernadette Soubirous in 1858.
Due to the death of His Holiness Pope Francis, the beatification of Archbishop Eduard Profittlich has been put on hold. The College of Cardinals, which met on April 22 for its first General Congregation, decided to suspend all beatification ceremonies until a new Pope is elected. The Diocese of Tallinn will inform about the new date of the beatification of Archbishop Eduard Profittlich as soon as possible.
