On Sunday, February 22, after the Holy Mass, two minibuses were blessed by Bishop of Tallinn Mons. Philippe Jourdan in the courtyard of Sts Peter and Paul Cathedral. The vehicles were donated to the Order of Malta Relief Organisation in Estonia and arrived as the gift from Malteser Hilfsdienst of the Diocese of Trier in Germany. Both minibuses are specially adapted for the transport of people with disabilities, particularly wheelchair users.
Sunday, November 16, marked the World Day of the Poor. On this occasion, Pope Leo XIV also called on us to recognise those in need and to stand beside them. Order of Malta Relief Organisation in Estonia offered food assistance on both days this weekend.
On September 10,2025, Bishop of Tallinn Mons. Philippe Jourdan celebrated his 20th anniversary of the ordination. On this occasion, the Ambassador hosted a reception in the bishop's honor and presented him with the Cross Pro Piis Maltitensis.
More than 30 knights of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta from Estonia, Austria, Germany, Lithuania, and Sweden were present at the beatification Mass. H.E. Mag. Manfred Leo Mautner Markhof, the Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta was on of the major supporters of the beatification, providing significant assistance with logistics, as well as with the reception and hosting of guests. The volunteers of OMRO Estonia also made a substantial contribution, dedicating more than 450 working hours to preparation and organizational efforts. Their committed and service-oriented presence greatly contributed to the solemnity and smooth conduct of the beatification celebration.
From 15 to 18 May, the Kääriku Sports Centre hosted another para sports weekend organised by the Estonian Paralympic Committee, with support from the Order of Malta Estonia. This time, the camp brought together 16 children and young people with special needs, who made new friends and were introduced to various para-sports – including indoor curling, boccia, badminton, wheelchair basketball, floorball, football, judo, and different athletics disciplines.
For the third year in a row, the Estonian delegation participated in the Order of Malta International Pilgrimage to Lourdes which took place on May 1-5, 2025. During the five-day pilgrimage, Father Edgaras Versockis, the Chaplain of the Order in Estonia, celebrated Mass in the crypt of the Basilica of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in Lourdes, as well as at the Grotto of Massabielle, where the Virgin Mary appeared to Bernadette Soubirous in 1858.
Due to the death of His Holiness Pope Francis, the beatification of Archbishop Eduard Profittlich has been put on hold. The College of Cardinals, which met on April 22 for its first General Congregation, decided to suspend all beatification ceremonies until a new Pope is elected. The Diocese of Tallinn will inform about the new date of the beatification of Archbishop Eduard Profittlich as soon as possible.
H.E.Manfred Ritter Mautner von Markhof, the Ambassador of the Order of Malta in Estonia participated in the 31st International Hospitallers’ Conference together with Alexander Tsikhilov, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Order of Malta Estonia, and Indrek Petersoo, the Board Member of Order of Malta Estonia.
